Noble Shungite is a special form of Shungite. Shungite itself is a black, carbon-containing mineral that mainly occurs in the Karelia region of Russia. It is divided into different categories that differ in their carbon concentration and also in their chemical properties. The difference between "normal" Shungite and Noble Shungite lies in the purity of the material. While ordinary Shungite usually has a carbon content of about 30-50%, Noble Shungite contains significantly more, up to 98% pure carbon, making it a particularly valuable and rare mineral.
